ruffles & stripes

Top // Jeans // Bag // Shoes

If it's okay with you, I think we should let this blue and white stripe trend stick around for a while, right?  I'm in love with the fresh feel it gives to office & off duty wear alike, and involving ruffles never hurts either, in my opinion!

J.Crew, no surprise, has this trend on lock and this poplin top is one that I was tempted to pick up in every color!  I refrained myself, since they used it in a couple of other silhouttes (here, with an awesome and super femme ruffle, and an off the shoulder top I also nabbed.)

Tell me, are you loving this trend as much as I am?  And are you as hesitant to give up your white jeans (I think I refuse!)

concert style

Cross Front Tee // Shorts - old, these are v similar // Bag // Booties // Hat-similar

I guess this post is just a bunch of photos of me touching my hat?!  :)

I wore this outfit to a concert last Wednesday with Darrell (Wilco!) probably the 7th time we've seen them but what can I say?  It never gets old!  These flat booties were the perfect thing for standing in a crowd all night long, and one of my very favorite purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.

I can't get enough of hats in the fall, especially fawn colored felt ones that seem to match every outfit (and cover every bad hair day!)  This one from Hinge is a couple years old, but my new favorite is the one linked above, yet another Nsale purchase that I had wanted FOREVER but had trouble pulling the trigger at full price.  You might be wondering how they're different, but listen, they all serve a purpose....just like my 50 striped shirts.

Hope you all had a great week, and Happy Monday!

four shades of grey

To me, this pullover is the ultimate summer to fall item!  It works so well with shorts, because it has a pretty open back.  Combined with these open toe booties and a hat, you get a fall feeling on a gloomy day like the day we shot these, but can still be so comfortable.

instagram round up

Top - super similar, this one is sold out // Jeans // Shoes (only $54!) // Bag - similar, this one is sold out// Sunnies // Ring

These jeans run small, definitely take your usual size or size up!

Free People Emma Dress // Jessica Simpson Open Toe Booties // Necklace

I've had this dress for over a year now and I'm so glad they re released it!  It's on sale in different colors a few places as well, here and here.  The booties I linked are actually just similar to the ones I have on, mine are sadly sold out.

Dress (on sale for $50!!) // Sunglasses // Bag // Sandals

Comment on my IG if you want to see a tutorial for this braided side ponytail!

Sunnies // Planner - this is by far my favorite planner, I cannot live without it!  Highly, highly recommend if you are in need of a new one or a school year planner!

Top (on sale for less than $25)  // Jeans // Booties (also on sale) // Necklace (can't see it but SO cute and less than $30) // Bag - sold out, super similar

This top I thought was so versatile (with high waisted skirts & jeans!) so I grabbed it in a few colors - I highly recommend it!  These jeans run large, size down a full size.  These booties are SO comfy and if they aren't in stock in the tan, the navy is super cute as well.  The necklace I linked is one of my favorite delicate, everyday pieces.

Hat // Top  // Jeans  ($100 off, cannot believe these are still in stock!) // Sandals // Clutch

This top is so versatile I got it in a few colors!  The jeans run just a tiny bit big - you could probably get away with either your regular size or a size down.  They don't stretch out throughout the day.
This clutch is old and was much cheaper than the original Clare V version, but I linked another affordable dupe!

Top - sold out, super similar and on sale // Bag // Shoes (on sale!) // Jeans // Earrings - so cute and under $20

Those jeans run large, size down a full size.  This tote is actually an Old Navy tote from a few years ago I had monogrammed!  These shoes match a ton, are surprisingly comfortable, and run true to size.  I highly recommend them and snagging them at the sale price!

Top - old, super similar with longer sleeves for autumn // Jeans - also older, THESE are on sale for $38!   // Shoes // Earrings

The jeans I linked run big, size down, and these shoes fit very true to size.

Dress- couldn't find online, this is very similar // Shoes, but these are on sale for $60  // Claire's Dress is by Matilda Jane but a bit older, this is very similar

This dress is Agnes & Dora, a brand I love that's sold through consultants.  If you're interested in getting set up with one let me know - I don't sell it but I can recommend someone!  Same goes for Matilda Jane :)

Phew!  So many pics this week - I'm getting so excited every day to get dressed up for transitional fall weather.  If you aren't already following me on Instagram you can find me HERE.  My Instagram shop is always open here, but I will definitely do more detailed posts about the outfits in these round ups.  Hope you're having a great week so far!

Rabbit Rabbit!  Can you even believe that it's August already?? Probably ingrained in me from school days, August always feels like the end of the summer to me.  Of course in St. Louis it pretty much stays warm until the end of September, it's definitely winding down.  We've been embracing a slower lifestyle lately and I've been really enjoying it.  Still, we have to squeeze every drop of goodness out of 2016 so we have a few more things to check off our summer bucket list!

Every summer we make it a priority to get to the Botanical Gardens for their Wednesday evening concerts as often as we can.  They have an amazing children's garden there, and Claire has a total blast being in an area where she can run and get messy to her heart's content.  We, however, really love the "sit on a picnic blanket and drink wine" aspect of the event!

Claire picked out her own outfit this evening - yes even the completely temperature inappropriate knee high socks - and we just rolled with it.  It worked out in her favor, nearly everyone we passed told her how much they loved her boots, and they'd get a VERY enthusiastic "Thank you!" as a reward.  I hope so much that the joy she infuses into everyone around her is neverending.  Little girls are just a special kind of magic.

new blog feature & an instagram round up

Hat // Top // Jeans // Shoes - ps, pretty much everything linked here is on sale!

For size reference, I am wearing a S top, a 27 in the jeans (but I wish I had sized down to a 26, the waist is a little too big and they're going to get a go in the dryer later!)

Wearing S in the dress, but you can really wiggle between sizes in this brand, it's very stretchy!  This dress is extremely nursing friendly, although I'm not nursing Claire anymore at this point.  The hat only comes in one size and I have worn it SO much this summer.

Hat // Top // Jeans // Shoes // Bag

I linked to a different top here because this one is out of stock!  I tried on the one I linked and the fit is true to size, I was my usual small.  This purse has been getting a ton of use here and I really hope they restock this color.  The jeans run a big large and I sized down to a 26.  Lastly, these shoes are some of the best shoes I have ever bought for the price.  They are so comfortable and match a ton!  Everything linked here is either on sale or under $100!

Last oufit, this dress is from a brand called Lularoe that is sold through consultants.  It's great quality and I've really grown to love the brand, so I linked to my friend's Facebook shop.  I don't get anything for linking to her, she's just who I prefer to shop through and though you may like her as well :)
I'm wearing a size small, which is my usual size in the "Amelia" style dress.  I'm also loving these burgundy suede Joie sandals, which were on sale, and give you a little fall feeling even though they are totally summer appropriate!

Claire's dress is Matilda Jane, a super popular children's brand that is also sold through consultants, and I linked to my personal consultant there as well - no strings attached, no benefits to me if you buy anything through them!

As I've gotten back into blogging, one of my favorite things to post is of course my outfits!
While I haven't yet gotten back into the schedule of shooting outfits with Darrell on the weekends, I'm planning to soon (we have a backyard to shoot in now!!) Until then, I post daily on Instagram, which is great for throwing up something quickly but not so great for sharing details if you'd like to buy something.  I recently worked out how to get a "shoppable" Instagram page on the blog - click the link in the top bar! - and I hope you'll find it useful.  For today's post, I linked everything individually below its photo and wanted to share fit information for each outfit.  Thank you so much for stopping by!
