pink coats and velvet shoes

We shot these photos on what I'll probably remember as the last warm day (it hit 80 this day!!) and I know I'll be eating these words in February, but I wasn't sad to see the warmth go.  I'm one of these crazy people who likes to start enjoying the holidays the minute Halloween is over - admittedly not my favorite, Halloween - and I just can't do that when it's 80 degrees outside!  I want holiday Starbucks cups, not t shirts and shorts.

This outfit is one that I'll definitely be wearing with tights (favorite tights ever right here, by the way) in the coming months, and this little bag has been on repeat - it's by J.Crew, and I love that you can have it monogrammed.  It feels so luxe, but it's actually under $130 (and you can usually find a promo code to make it even less!)

leather jacket round up

Of all my autumn must haves, a leather jacket tops the list.  Admittedly, there's a sadly brief period in St. Louis where a leather jacket is actually a practical purchase - it seems like it's hot hot hot hot hot and then BAM freezing cold after a measly two weeks of fall most years.  But this year!  This year in St Louis we've begun this gradual cool down in the mornings and evenings that is just the most perfect temperature for a slim fitting leather jacket as a topper, so I'm taking full advantage

I linked all my best finds for you in the widget, but wanted to point out a few I have and love...

The bottom right "Blank NYC" jacket I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and it's possibly the best purchase I made.  Make sure to size down - I got an extra small, it runs big.

Forever 21 does surprisingly fantastic faux options, I've bought one practically every year, and this year bought their burgundy quilted version for the second time I liked it so much.  It always garnered tons of compliments, and people were shocked it wasn't real.  Last year's was worn out, and a little too big, but that's no big deal since they only run you about $20 and are easily replaced.

That Tory Burch blush in the center is the jacket of my dreams, although sadly out of my budget.  Perhaps in yours though?

And finally the 70s glam cognac River Island jacket with the fur collar is also calling my name, and I picture it going perfectly with the wide legged flares of fall.

Which one is your favorite?

fall favorites + a shopping tip

I know it's only mid-August, but seeing as how the #PSL ( aka pumpkin spice latte) is already back at Starbucks  - and perhaps more importantly, how Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale is back in the beer aisle - I can't help but be excited for autumn!  I wanted to link to a few of my favorite things I'll be wearing this fall.  Hopefully you're not already sick of the Lush tunic, obviously I'm obsessed!  Those fringe booties are surprisingly comfortable for the heel height, and I've always been a huge fan of a "Black Honey" lip once the temps turn down!  Nothing is easier for getting that fall feeling than a deeper nail color, especially when it's still a little too warm for mahogany leather riding boots.

Now that I've put together my Pinterest board for my fall fashion vision, it's time to shop!  More importantly, it's time to get paid to shop.

Cue collective "huh, what?"

I don't mean in that "I'm a blogger, I get paid to shop" way (I'm not that big of a deal, hah!) I mean with eBates!

Honestly, I can't believe I haven't shared the magic of eBates on the blog before now, it's really overdue.  eBates is a shopping referral website - their stores pay them a fee when customers shop there, and eBates gives a portion of that fee back to their users.  Pretty simple!  You join by providing your email address, and after you've made a few purchases - after logging in with eBates - you get a deposit to your Paypal account, or you can choose to receive a check in the mail.  I use the eBates Cash Back plugin - linked here - and it automatically checks that any website I'm shopping at is or isn't offering a percentage of cash back if the purchase is made through eBates.

You can sign up for eBates here - it's totally free, they are basically making $$$ off of referring you to stores (that you probably would have shopped at anyways!) and you get to benefit from it as well.  The magic of the internet!

* This post isn't sponsored by eBates at all!  I just love sharing deals and discounts with readers, and it's always fun to see a little extra spending money in my Paypal account!
